What you gonna try it in? I just nabbed some too-- I'm doing a small sample with 182hht's in 300 rum to see how it compares to h1000--, speeds first, then accuracy potential.....if it's good I might try it with a few more pills and in a few more cartridges
We should start a thread with a chart of Alliant alternatives--- since it's gonna be years before it's available again--- I feel like Alliant might have shot themselves in the foot over this as street prices will soar and people will definitely find alternatives (as long as other powder manus don't follow suit--thats my fear)
I do think Grand might be really good in .270TH and know it will be good in 300WM. In .270 with 150gr it was 2954 with 24" barrel. So out of 27" .270, it will be ~3050 in starting blocks. So with 151HHT or 156HH should do well. It's going to have really good case fill better than H1000.

That ramshot grand and the new StaBall HD are sounding like winners so far - HD is supposed to be right between retumbo and 8133 on the burn rate
I recently tried N550 with 154HHT in 300WSM and shoots well at 3300fps. So I believe there are plenty of alternatives if you are willing to get uncomfortable stepping out of your safety zone if tried and true.
