Which Range Finding Binos?

I had a chance to handle the new Zeiss RF's at a local store. Compact package, amazing glass, bluetooth enabled ballistic solver...What more could you want?

Oh yeah, about 1500 bucks cheaper. They are expensive, but I still have the Zeiss binos I purchased in 2001 and just made them my backup pair. They are a solid company with a solid product you pay a premium for.

I am looking too and just cannot stomach the price for Leica, Zeiss or Swaro LRF binos (despite the quality).

For something that will do the job and not break the bank for me I am looking at the Vortex Fury's and the Sig BDX3000. Would love to see some real reviews on the Sig before deciding though. @ $1000ish street though, neither is a bad deal probably.

Currently have Zeiss Terra 10x42 binos and Zeiss 8x26 PRF so I would imagine either Sig or Vortex will be for sure more convenient and depending on glass on par or step up.

Has anybody tried the Vectroix VECTOR IV, 21 or 23 RF binoculars. Very expensive. Are they worth it?

I have the Geovid HD-B 3000's. They're my first rangefinding binos...and last. They were due to drop earlier this year and I believe the were finally hitting the shelves a few months ago. The optics are what you expect from this level of product and the ranging is super fast. They're definitely not compact but at least now I don't have to carry around the binos and rangefinder separately.

umm not IMO because since people have spent money on those in the last 5 years there are plenty of options that work great to well beyond what just about anyone would shoot to. 10 years ago basically your options began and ended with leica of some sort. In those days those RF units worked pretty reliable out to about 800 yards, sometimes further. but 800 was about what you could reliably get. The vector's terrapin's etc were a step well beyond that and were designed for the miltary. With the EL range and current leica's as well as zeiss you are going to get 1300+ reliable maybe even further. beyond what I am going to shoot at!!

given the price point of that new SIG it looks probably comparable to the vortex and nikon RF binocular units. Sig is having these made and labeled for them. I have a tuff time thinking they are going to compete head to head with the big 3 in RF power, Maybe I can't say for sure just my guess.

IMO of the big 3 zeiss's latest unit is the best. The binocular glass is amazing,They are also the very latest design. that has been released by the big 3. I personally have used the EL range for years and have been very happy with them. This fall however they RF isn't working all the time. and I have to send them back for repair. I suspect the range button is at fault. Swaro told me they will need a trip to austria. the leica geovids I used before also needed repair as well so, its not totally a swaro deal.

I have both the 8x and 10x Leica HD-b's (1700yd) versions. Have been very happy with both on prairie dogs. I readily get ranges out past 800 yds with them.

I have a question on ranging binos,rangfinders have a shelf life owning my slc's for over 20 years and happy as the day I purchased them. What do you do with rangring bino's when they fail as warranty on rangfjnder is limited ?

I have the geovids for last 15 years and they still work great. They are the 1300's and I have ranged past that. I have no problem getting ranges to limit all the time. I am not shooting past 1000 anyway.

Even it the electronics eventually fail you will still have a decent pair of binoculars.

Bought the HD-B 3000 in December. Friend has most recent Zeiss, and I don't think the glass is nearly as good as the Leica. Swarovski has a little better glass and warranty than Leica. But they don't range nearly as good. I shoot multiple guns and loads, so switching the SD card is a bit of a pain. I like the ballistics function on the 2400 abs a lot better.

I've been waiting to look through some of these since the BDX system was announced! Are you going to write a review of the ones you have?
