One new cartridge that's intriguing that you might consider is the 6.5 Weatherby RPM (Rebated Precision Magnum). What's interesting about as it uses the same bolt face as the 30-06 and the 6.5-284 . The case is actually based off the 284 with a 0.5000 dia body but longer, 2.570" case. The other unique feature is this cartridge is devoid the normal double radius Weatherby shoulder and instead has the standard looking shoulder of 35.25 degrees. Velocities are said to be faster than the 6.5 PRC. The downfall is the brass is only available through Weatherby and hard to get. Other than that, I think it's an exciting cartridge. .
