What to build for blacktails? Hammer bullets, low recoil, 700 yard effective range

Yeah thatd suck! Lol I light light rifles. I hunt rifle in hand as blacktail dont give you too many chances so I like to be ready. Heavy guns are a no go for me too.

Are you not wanting a 25? Or is it that the other two calibers are already on hand? Id think theres a bullet few options in 25 Creed thatd meet your specs. Im guessin the 117 Cayuga would fly flat a loong ways for one, or 95Copper Rose, 108Afterburner, 115MTH, heavier sleeker hammer..

Im considering the same kind of project for a high country deer rifle.

I used to hunt a 257 Weatherby in the synthetic Vanguard, 24" barrel. 100 grainers runnin 3570 and gettin 10 loads on the cases. I could spot most shots with it un field positions and easily if prone.

The rifle weight bare wasnt light bit not truly heavy. 7.5lb i think, 19oz scope.

Looking at the sleek 25s now designed for 10" twist I like the Copper Rose that thing is a lazer. Carrying 2200 to 780yards at my high country hunt elevation. Chop off 100 yards for low el and ur still doin it.

I like 6.5s too but theres more muzzle rise with them and the slightly heavier bullets. Makes spottin shots a bit tougher. And theyre not as fast.

Im considering 6CM and also a 22CM as well. I may get some DRTs shipped to a friend in OR. I used them in 6.5CM and saw promise.
