what the

I've got armadillos and skunks. My yard looks like it has been attacked by augers.

I guess a "Texas Heart Shot" in the flower bed, along our back porch was ill advised! 🙀

In my defense…..it was at night, and he'd escaped me twice by going into the basement window well! 🤬🤬🤬 I didn't want to fail 3 times! Pride goeth before the fall! 🤦‍♂️ memtb

On the "Bright Side"……the cats are not using the flower bed to make deposits now! 😂 memtb

Those armadillos have wised up to my late evening sniper sessions. They wait to I go to bed to invade now.
This one came out before I went to bed. Found him the next morning.

I'm not sure. Depends on where you live. I was testing a new trail cam in my backyard and it caught a possum tearing out chunks of grass that looked like your picture with its normally straight tail. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't have multiple recordings. Turned out it was building a nest under my shed and soon emerged with a bunch of babies. The possum curls it tail up
Like a corkscrew to yank out the grass.
I know raccoons also will did in grass for grubs.

Possums in central Oregon! WOW! I would have thought it would get too cold! Same for NY! I didn't know they were in such cold. Had lots when I grew up in North Texas.

For clarity, the possum problem in my yard was when I lived in California. Didn't intend to mislead.
Central Oregon where we moved to a few years ago has the big fat raccoons. Should probably change my avatar, but it is a pain. I'm not feeding them but they are certainly not starving. We live at 4200 ft in the forest and the snow doesn't seem to bother them.
