What rifles are you planning to use in the 23/24 deer seaon?

Opening day here in Michigan I'll carry my late father's Remington 742 30-06 carbine he bought in 1965 in the morning in the afternoon it's my late grandpa's Remington 760 30-06 bought new in 64. After that it's my Howa 6.5 Grendel or T/C Contender with a 14" 35 Remington barrel on it. Best of luck to all this season

A Remington 760 .30-06 is what I took my very first whitetail with when I was 12 or 13 (I think)

Are the different bullets chosen on the basis of terminal performance at close vs long range or is it just a matter of what each rifle shoots well/shoots best with?
The 16" barrel on the creed puts the 140 class bullets right at 2500 for max loads, while that's generally fine I decided to move down to try the 130 class to pick up some speed. I tried the tmk before the eld because they are supposedly a little tougher than the 130 eld(more like an eldx in nature) the tmk shoots so well that I never even tried anything else after that. They go 2620 avg.

The 140 eldm is because this rifle is also a comp rifle when loaded down, and eldms are cheap to buy in bulk and shoot great so why change what's working. Plus, I've seen plenty of deer killed with them to be comfortable with it.

Plus, base to shoulder distwnce is like 5 though different so I like having the loads color coded

To all 6.5 creedmoor shooters using staball match and staball 6.5 using the 143 grain eldx and the 147 gr. eldm how many grains are you using for each load and the velocity of each and please include your barrel lenth and twist rate. need this information to work up for my deer hunting season. Thank You. PM Me with info.

It will be the same old rifle, with a new bullet/load developed this summer. 270 grain LRX's @ 3000+ mv!

Two groups fired, two different loads, two days apart…..It should be "minute of Whitetail" out to my self-imposed range limit!

Though, it will be Whitetails only……our Mule deer took a hard hit this past winter! memtb
You got that singing 🎶 like my 378❗❤️‍🩹maybe I just best use my 416 Bee 🐝 so I can say I've got more HP 😂❗🙏🎶🍻👉🏻❤️

For Sika deer and Whitetails I'll be using a 7600 Remington that was my uncles and handed down to me ( he was the one that got me into hunting but passed away 5 years ago) And for Elk in Montana since I didn't tag out with bow, I'll be using my 28 nosler that was built by Circlewguns.
Lol you've gotta mention the Caliber 😀 I'm a Lefty, I've got 13 760's & 7600's 😍

My custom Rem 700 in 300 WM, 26" SS 1-10 twist, with brake n more brake, built by me, 76grs H4350, 178gr Absolute Hammer, Rem 9.5 primers 3400 fps.
I will say that a few people on here helped with some ideas because most of my rifles were intentional 1-200 yards rifles, but I stretched this one out some so I needed some guidance on what I needed, thank you.
This used to be a 458 WM on this stock & action, it now sports a Vortex Viper HS LR 4-16x50mm 30mm Tube Second Focal Plane Rifle Scope, the Simmons I used to get this group with is back in the drawer.

It's very (very) close to max…..but, was done on a 90 F plus day. I expect that at hunting temperatures it will be a bit less velocity…..it's not a recognized temperature stable powder!

But, I am pretty pleased with the speed and the accuracy! 😉 memtb
