No such thing as too many ;)

Not really. This was my 2nd outing with this rifle and I tried subsonic, standard velocity, a few target loads from Eley, Federal and SK but this rifle prefers the faster ammo (not the hyper verocity) and it also prefers a lubed bullet over a non-lubed one.
Try Aquilla Interceptors - full 40gr bullet.

I also have a win 22mag,checkered.And my ol Weatherby 22 lr,tube mag, semi fun gunView attachment 376192

Silly Boys and Girls.....that's "wash your mouth open with soap, wait 'til your Dad gets home" sacrilegious....this is America.....can't have no just one stinkin' favorite .22...... :) :) :)
For favorite plinking/squirrel rifle, I'll second the Weatherby XXII tube magazine rifles. They just look, feel, shoot Tony the Tiger G-R-E-A-T!!!! I collect them.
For sentimental: #1, "GOD CANT AFFORD" PRICELESS...Stevens Model 11 rolling breach block single shot .22...my first gun, Dad bought at estate sale.....exactly like Gpa's Dad hunted meat for family as a 5yo boy...taught me to shoot at 5yo in basement on Saturdays while Mom grocery shopped.....killed messes of squirrels/rabbits with Dad; #2, "ELON MUSK can't afford" PRICELESS.....Dad's bought new at Sears...now mine....JC Higgins Model 31 semi-auto.22 with 4x scope, retractable nylon sling....squirrel "head only or lose your turn" getter par excellence.
For accuracy/plinking/competition any one of several in Anshutz, VooDoo, Volquartsen, Tikka T1x with after market stocks, or Bergra B-14R Trainer, CZ 457 Varmint Precision, Ruger Precision rimfire,......
For favorite .22LR ammo, I'll go with.........wait for it......... anything in stock........except the Win retro yellow box at $41+ a box....that just ain't right.....

About 5 months ago I decided to 3D design and build an aluminum chassis for my 1967 Ruger 10-22. I got carried away a bit and just finished today! Good timing I guess for this thread, and of all things I drew first blood with it last night when a young wood chuck started building a home in the wrong place! So far I have been testing different ammo, and it seems to like SK Long Range Match and Lapua Center X quite well. I used the SKLR on Woody when he climed up on the deck and sat on a bench by our decorative pond. Here are some pictures of my build. (And Woody)

Used a Desert Tech SRS A1 monopod and double linear ball bearings for smooth rapid / fine adjustments on the bag rider. I customized an Evolution Bipod and mounted it coaxial to the bore as far forward as possible. Added picatinny and arca rails for accessories (I used the arca rail and a tripod from inside my hot tub room to get Woody) I put a Ruger hammer forged 20" bull barrel turned, threaded and mounted in a barrel block. The bottom of the receiver, and front and rear mounting tangs are machined parallel to the bore and mounted solidly in the chassis. I put a single stage Kidd trigger group in it, headspaced and cross pinned the bolt. Installed a Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25 and Spuhr 13 mil mount on top, with a Knight's Armament level under the eye piece. It is shooting fairly well at 25 yards, next I am going to see how it does at 50, then farther if it continues to do well. It has been a fun project to build, and will be fun to see what it can do.
Happy 4th of July!
