What is your favorite 7MM REM Mag Load?

I have 2 loads that are favorable out of my Broughton barreled 7mm.

The first is the 69.5 grains of H1000 215 primer .011 off the lands 180 Berger Hunting VLD. This load shoots bug holes consistently. The speed is a bit down ranging from 2998 to 3010.

The second is 71.0 Grains of Retumbo 215 primer .011 off the lands 180 Berger Hunting VLD. This load shows a bit of pressure that close to the lands but shoots 3094 fps and again bug holes. I stick with the 69.5 H1000 load due to its pressure being lower and super consistent results.gun)

Never could get a Berger to shoot. I use the 162 A-max , 72.1 grs of H-1000, seated .020 off the lands. Fed GM210m primers, Rem brass. Last two trips to the range produce groups of .204 and .152 @ 200 yds. Taking it down to the farm next week to get my drop charts. I zero at 300 yd and set my target at 600 for the drop chart. Then move out to 800 and 1000 to fine tune the numbers. Guessing MV around 3070-3080. This is with a 26" Hart/ 9 twist.

Wish my speed was down that slow I'm shooting 168 vld's with 68.5 grains H1000 with cci250 primers and .010 off lands in a krieger 1-10 twist. I am only getting 2856fps, and your getting over 3000 with with 180's and 1 more grain of powder, I need to know your secret. :)

Broughton barrel maybe? May also be a difference in Chrony's. We shoot out to 1000yds to verify clicks, and B.C. cant speak for your setup?

I've been having fantastic results with the following recipe:
168gr Berger VLD Huning Bullets
Remington Brass
WLRM Primers
H1000 69.6 grains
Bullets seated to the lands
Getting 3010-3026 fps (using a F-1 Shooting Chrony)
No signs of pressure (had flat primers at 70 grains)
Been averaging .7 MOA all the way out to 500 yards. Hope to push it out to 800 in the near future.

These are very similar to my go-to loads. Only mine come in at 69.0 of H1000 and 70.0 grains of Retumbo to get comparable velocity.

Lotsa good info guys, thanks. Anyone tried the 145gr LRX on paper and game yet?
I was a bit worried when 62.6 & 62.9 gave me averages of 3250 & 3275 with the 140 tsx out of a 24" Savage (no over pressure signs) cuz I thought that was kinda fast. But now I see y'all driving with much higher pressures...more powder with heavier bullets. Those 2 loads seem to be very accurate so now I'm moving to TTSX & 145 lrx for higher BC and faster/easier expansion.

So, anyone try these on deer and elk? Out to what range & is this enough for elk with decent shot placement? Too much for light - medium sized deer at 200 - 400 yards?

I can second the IMR 4350 and 150 gr BT loads. Win brass,CCI 250 61.5 gr gets 3050 fps. You can push it harder but I choose not to. 140 gr accubond and R 19. Dont have the data handy but it was running 3200's. My rifle likes the medium burn powders for 140-150's. Did some testing with R 26 and 162 gr eld. 66.5 gr 2900 ish and bugholes.

Remington Brass
Federal 215M primers

140gr Ballistic tip and Ballistic Silver tip
64.5 gr IMR-4350
COAL 3.38"
Group 0.54"
Avg 3,280 fps

150gr Ballistic Tip and Ballistic Silvertip
61.5 gr IMR-4350
COAL 3.30"
Group 0.51"
Avg 3,150 fps

154 gr SST and Interlock
61.0 gr IMR-4350
COAL 3.40"
Group 0.58"
Avg 3,130 fps

I'm still working on loads for some 160gr Sierra Gamekings, 162 gr SST, 162gr Interlocks and a box of 162gr AMax I have. Also have some 175gr Gamekings I have to work with. For all these I'm using RL19, they didn't like the 4350.
