The 30-378 Weatherby Mag is impressive for such a large bullet. I think that could be the ultimate 30 cal?

Not as much as you would think.

Hornady 750AMAX loaded at 2,800 fps from a 36" barrel and zeroed at 300 yards is 45" low at 600 and 189" low at 1,000 yards. Based on my altitude of 7,500 feet.

The M33 load is worse.

I have never fired the 6.5-300 or 26 nosler. But, looking at the data...

The 6.5-300 has a average bullet drop in inches of -32.4 at 500 yards.

The 300rum has a average bullet drop in inches of -44.7 at 500 yards.

Every load for my RUM beats the 44.7" drop at 500 yards.

And I know you 30-378 guys can top that.

What is your zero range and highest elevation at midpoint?

Running the 35 HH with a .166 BC at 4865 fps and using a 400 yard zero, it renders a 4.6" high at 250 yards and 8" low at 494 yards. And that is derived using my 7,500 foot altitude.

You must using a zero range beyond 400 yards with a mid height of 5" or so for a sea level PBR of 506 yards?

I have never once on here claimed to be an expert nor claimed to be doing any real world testing between calibers and rifles. I've also never claimed my 300 rum rifle is flatter shooting than other calibers. I'm just a casual hunter.

Can you post some proof with a video that your RUM beats the 6.5-300 wby and 26 nosler at 500 yards? Where is your data? Why is your word more credible than Backfire's and Ron Spomer's? I'm not concerned about the 300 RUM being roughly around 44.7" drop at 500 yards give or take one or two inches. I was referring to someone's posts where they insinuated the 300 rum is as flat shooting or flatter shooting than the 6.5-300 and 26 nosler.
