Best shot I ever made was swimming cottonmouth at 50 yards, head-shot, in the rain, Ruger 10/22.

Shot an antelope at 560 yards, 300 H&H. Nothing compared to most here.

Before I knew what a rangefinder was, I shot a caribou that we paced off at about 800 yards. First shot hit right behind the front feet. The second shot hit right the front feet. My hunting partner and I realized that we were way off on our distance judgement. Adjusted holdover and hit it in the neck. It was about then that I started to get into shooting at longer distances. Today I try to limit myself to 500 yards depending on what rifle that I am hunting with.
