What if lead was banned by executive order?

Just a comment from someone living in CA and dealing with the lead bullet ban, it is worth at least considering the ramifications in your gun purchase plans.

For me it takes moving up a caliber or two (example 7mm users might consider .338 based rounds) and tighter barrel twist to deal with the "longer than lead for the same mass" bullets.

For better or worse it has me considering a .416 Weatherby build instead of something in .338. Might as well step up to the Africa grade round instead of a 1/2 step. It will take some time to save up for it though.

Just curious, how many of you have been in the field and were stopped by a Game Warden or Police Officer or Sheriff who ask to inspect your bullet?

The minimum $1,500 fine and tactics of some the California wardens generally keeps compliance. I was told by a friend of a warden that's was eves dropping on his conversation at a post hunt restaurant. The restaurant was in a lead free zone but the tag and hunt was in an open to lead zone. The warden still confronted the hunters, tried to cite them but they managed to tell him to shove off.

I respect the officers but the tactics the are taught to use do not make them look good.
