What Happened To This Bullet ?

Could have been in an ar chassis.. hit feed ramp/barrel extension lug and jammed, distorted and did not feed correctly, then a forward assist was "whacked" to try to feed/chamber to no avail

Looks like someone forgot to switch from their sizing die to the seating die and jammed the bullet up in between the decaping rod/expander ball and the inside of the die when they went to seat the bullet.
^^^^This has my vote.

I'm with Barrelnut. It appears there are brass striating on the bullet. Someone short cycled and tried to force a 2 nd round into another round. I would think that it took considerable force to cause that to the bullet. If you have to force a round into the chamber then you should STOP and take a look to see why.

I found this the other day in the dirt next to the bench. It's a .30 caliber and weighs 229.9 grains, it looks like a Berger. It didn't get fired as there are no rifling marks but it sure looks like it hit something, or something hit it. Maybe something stuck in the barrel ? I'm not sure but I think I'm glad I wasn't there to see it.View attachment 109943 View attachment 109944 View attachment 109945 View attachment 109946 View attachment 109947
Someone filed the feed ramp and created a chisel 😂
