Btw great idea for a thread.
You are absolutely correct on more than putting game on the groundThat's what it's all about. I can't wait till my youngest is old enough. My oldest is special needs so we can't do a lot of the normal stuff. So him and I "hunt" we drive around look for turkey or deer. Then every now and again we try and stalk one. He's not good at being still or quite even his shhhh is loud. But it's hunting and teaches me it's more than just putting game on the ground.
It taught me how to make sausage. Lots and lots of sausage....

Any samples available?
It seems you have a great system going onActually I have shipped some to a friend in AL one winter. He liked it.
I never told him what it was in it exactly. In this house it could be whitetail... Maybe mule deer... Possibly Canadian honker, grouse, pheasant or antelope.. Maybe even a mix of all depending whether I'm short on one for a recipe. It all eats the same .
Pass it on..Pass on the tradition and let the kids shoot first!!
The grand kids are next up.
You have a season to hunt roads?Around here I'm afraid a lot of folks were only taught how to road hunt….
