Every sheep is special to me but yes my Desert is my best. When I shot him he was the fifth largest ram ever taken in Utah.
Yesterday I drew the sole NR desert tag in Colorado so that will be an adventure for this fall. I need to buy lotto tickets with my son and I each drawing a sheep tag, his last year and mine this year.

I've never hunted sheep in my life but to me a super light weight 280AI seems like it would be about perfect
As much as I like 280ai, 284win, it's ballistic twin in something like a Forbes has always seemed ideal in a light 7mm.

For me I think the 22 or 6 creed is about a perfect sheep cartridge.

Hopefully hunting bighorn in Alberta next fall and Stone in BC in August. I'll be using my 6.5-300 Wby Mag in a Weatherby Mark V Ultra Lightweight. It's taken mountain goat and moose in BC this year with authority, so it should be an amazing sheep rifle too!

Some beautiful sheep in this thread! Congrats guys!!!

3/9/23 Sonora, 6.5 PRC 143 gr ELDX, 675 yards...he was done within about 5 seconds with a high shoulder shot.

There are some great rams and cool stories in this thread...always interesting to see what people shoot rams with!! I've got 6 rams and used a different rifle on every one: 7mm Rem Mag, 7 Rum, 6.5 PRC, 300 Wby, 340 Wby, 270 Wby - all one shot kills except the 7 Rum.
