Nice shoulder puncher??. Sold my 45-70 a few years back. Don't think I shot the 45-90. I'm guessing it has a nice punch???

This is true. A friend of mine used to hunt whitetails with a 375 H&H mag years ago and he used to say the same thing about that fire breathing cannon.

.223 on varmints, 6.5mm Swede AI on deer sized game, and 300 WM on the bigger stuff.

264 W.M. only a few that can push a 85gr hp over 3800fps and this is one of them. It will also push a 160gr PPSN over 3200fps. My go to rifle if a Remington 721 in 264wm and bought this rifle in 1963 then replaced the original barrel in 2010 with a shilen 30" stainless steel heavy varmint barrel with 1 in 8 twist and 6 groves.
