What’s the BEST down right there (DRT) loaded ammunition/bullet for whitetail/pronghorn in 6.5 Creedmoor?

My friend uses that very bullet in 300 mag. I can assure you by actual kills and his pictures a Hybrid is no full metal jacket.

By definition it is...a lead core with a full copper jacket...but whatever you say. Either way...yes, some M183/M80 ball 5.56/.308 in the heart of a deer will kill the same way an ELDX will...or do you want to challenge ge the DoDs claim (and supporting research) that the 5.56 ball ammo is lethal? You're ****ing in the wind here. You can be a super special, core locked, whatever hunting bullet fan if you like, that's great, couldnt care less, but you won't convicnce me it's magic or that it is a catch all for bad shot placement.

Look, military use full metal jacket because of another reason. They would all be openly using something other than full metal jacket. Your argument has little merit. Why do most all hunters not use full metal jacket. Also there is a hollow point in a Berger Hybrid. I'm looking at one as I text. If you're perfect shot theory for everyone, at every range, at all game moving or not moving was even plausible, your failure to see, even the crush damage as giving you an advantage, as energy dispersed in said game by a good bullet is flawed. Not to mention the stress and temporary cavity. So I'm not arguing about something so ridiculous. Again if your theory is true, why does every competent hunter not use full metal jacket?
Don't use the marketing idea. I'm safe in saying most everyone reading this is not using full metal jacket for their hunts.

It's not a hollow point in Berger hybrids...the tips are pointed for BC...big difference. "Pointing" bullets does not make a "hollowpoint". But please, continue...

I'm just telling you full metal means no hole where I'm from. A hole in the end of a bullet can be called whatever made up name you personally want to call it. I will call a bullet with a hole in the end a hollow point. Which is a bullet with a hole in the end. The marketing as you used earlier, I will use here. Military use SMK which is a bullet with a hole in the end. Marketing says target because it would violate certain situations if they called it what it is. Now you can argue that with whomever your snark smart rear arrogant pompous *** wants. Here I will end my comments because in the words of Mark Twain, "No amount of evidence will ever persuade an idiot." Whom that refers is let to the reader's.

So Kentucky has its own definitions for bullet construction...good to know.

"Pointing" an otherwise FMJ does not make it a hollow point. As much as you seem to want to make that arguement. I'm not here to change your opinion, I really don't care, you mentioned me...

Federal, Berger, Winchester etc. all make some good loaded choices for hunting. There are some great Choices mentioned here in this thread.
I'm hunting with DTACs this next year...but I suppose I'll have an empty freezer from now on because of such a poor bullet choice.

Since you want to keep the ridiculousness going, what do you call a bullet with a hole in the end? You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig.

There is an actual definition of a hollow point....its in the Geneva Convention and typically accepted as "designed to expand". Some definitions mention "exposed lead in a otherwise solid jacket". The key is, designed to expand, pointing the meplat doesn't facilitate expansion, it uniforms BC...so, not a hollow point. But of course, you are enitled to your own definitions, why not.

So you are saying the hollow tip of these bullets don't expand?

All bullets expand/mushroom when they meet resistance, pointed, tipped or traditional, but no the pointing of a hybrid does not necessarily facilitate that expansion. Again, it's for BC.

Berger hybrids are not a hollow point. Period.

Give Tubb a call...ask him why he put a nosering on his DTACs to facilitate expansion vs simply pointing them...I imagine he'll tell you the same thing. But then again, what does David Tubb know about bullets😉
