I am in the process of building a 257WBY on a Savage 110 action. Starting to think of loads for it. Has anyone used VihtaVuori powder in 257WBY and what were your results? So far I am not finding much if any data. I plan on using 100gr to 120gr bullets.

Which ones (brand)? If Berger, contact their tech support.
Which one performed the best? Starting/maximum load and velocities?
As with anything else, YMMV.

I shoot IMR 7828 and 117 grain flat base Sierra's In my 257 Wby. I have been using this load since 7828 was released in the early 80's. American Hunter Magazine listed some early loads for all the Weatherby line up and this is their listed load for 117 at 70.0 grains. The only change I have made is 7828 ssc, instead of standard long cut 7828. I have some loads made up to test N570 with 133 grain Elite Hunters from Berger. Haven't fired any yet and it will be a ladder up for accuracy and pressure results. I add .5 grains and just load two rounds. All came from Quick Load. N570 is sure a PITA in the powder measure. Every charge I throw bridges in the Harrell's powder measure.

I have seen that IMR7828 is a go to powder for the 257WBY, but I have been unable to find any.

Ramshot LRT works well also.

And yes, 7828 does work well.
Good velocity and accuracy.

I tried N555 with the 100gr NBT.
Just too much case capacity for that powder.

I'm looking at getting some N560, as I can use it in my 7mm Weatherby Magnum and 7mm Rem Mag.

A couple predictions from GRT. YMMV Guessed 24" barrel and the rest of it. Good case fill.
