vanguard rifles

I have one in 300 win, in its factory configuration it shot sub moa with multiple factory rounds. In a bell and carlson stock and hand loads its around 3/4 moa at 200 yards. I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on another.

I'll second everyone else on the weatherby stock. I bought a vanguard (backcountry?) Which ever one they had for a while with a fluted barrel and composit stock for ~$800...

In 300wby, with 180s, it kicked.
With a new 300PRC barrel and 215-225s, it was no fun at all.
With the new new 7PRC barrel and 180s, it shoots very comfortably.

I think I'm going to build another with the 300PRC barrel but definitely a different stock!

I have a Vanguard s2 in .257 Wby and you can cover 3 shots at 100yds with a dime. Handloads of course.
THe only factory loads I've found that will even come close is HSM 115gr Berger VLD hunting bullet ammo.
Except, I have no use for Berger bullets in a hunting scenario!

I have a 1500 in 7RM and the wife has one in 270, both are great shooters.
I had a friend of mine trying to sell me his 300 weatherby in what he said was a weatherby safari two days ago but I didn't take him up on his offer only because I don't want to add another caliber to load for right now
