Trying to get over 3000 fps for 300 WM and 180 grain Accubond

Put 2900 and 3000 FPS in your calculator. Difference is probably less than 100 yards before the bullet fails to properly function. Is it worth all the extra...IDK. Take accuracy over velocity.

If you want a screamer, go with a light mono.

FWIW, I have a load with a 178gr mono going 3250 ish FPS with RL16. BC is not wonderful, but it would hang with what you are loading.

I don't personally understand the need for speed pursuit....never will....guess that comes from being old! Never understood getting Old either.... Accuracy, Accuracy Accuracy....is what kills, and for me Barrel life is an added bonus.....just me

Well, I guess we could all go back to using 30-30's and 30-40 Krags. The old 25-20 could replace the 25-06 and 257 Wby, no need for 357 and 44 mags when 38 and 44 Specials will do, and in the process, we could eliminate all rifle magnums and maybe cease cartridge and powder developments around 1940 or so.

RL-26 can be found. I was burning this and IMR 8133 like there was no tomorrow until I only had 6lbs of each left....then I went to order more and this. I seen an 8lb container sell for $1600. If I could ship powder I'd be a rich man, Lol.

If you'd like more speed you should try a bullet with less bearing surface. I can launch a 240 SMK out of my 26" barrel 300 PRC with 81gr N570 at 2780. I can launch a 245 Berger EOL from the same brass and powder charge at 2940...one is long and pointy and 5 grains heavier, one is short and squat... bearing surface matters. Or if you can miracle up some RL-26...that's some magical business.
