I was out waiting to ambush hogs this past weekend.
We got about 7". Of course the power went out at 7:00 this morning. I can see a whole house generator in the future. I was scrambling trying to get the pool pump running off generator before it froze up.@cajun
How much snow over there?
We got 8"!!
Roads are frozen and closed everywhere!
We don't know how to handle his sh**!!

Outside the power outages and the other challenging aspects of this storm, I can't help but think it's kinda cool that for alot of folks young and old that this may be thier first and only time in thier life that they've even seen snow and got to play in it. I bet you can't wipe the smiles off some of them lol.

Yep….a lotta folks aren't very well prepared!
When I was in my 20's, I road my motorcycle (1973 Honda XL 250) almost everyday to work.
I rode in upper teens once, and in the low 20's numerous times! My most eventful ride was , riding about 15 miles home after working the 3 to 11 shift at the paper mill…..we had an ice storm that evening!
If you've never ridden a motorcycle on 15 or so miles of ice covered roads…….ya just haven't lived!
Having a light bike, and doing lots of off road riding and some racing, helped me survive the ride! Though, I did go down twice on corners! 
On the subject of winter clothing……I had really good gear for riding in the cold! memtb

-6 Here this morning, -2 yesterday morning and the day before we got 8" of more snow on top of 10" we already had.
We haven't had a winter like this in a long time. Only been above freezing once in the last 3 weeks, might see a high of 30 tomorrow. Picture of Sunday morning in my backyard.

My power went out a few years ago and all my exposed pool pipes froze and cracked.
Hopefully you get back up and running soon.
Lafayette region had a 4* reading this morning.
I'm 40 miles north and was much warmer at 10*!!

Several years ago when a large portion of the Texas power grid went down, my cousin living north of Houston lost their power. Pipes burst in the house causing many thousands of $ in damage and about 8 months to get repaired!
They now have a generator!
As a "half-@$$" prepper…. I cannot fathom being at least somewhat prepared for unusual events! memtb
That's my biggest fear.
My wife laughs at me because I'm more afraid of hard a freeze that anything else!
Being a farmer, there's lots of engines, water tanks, pumps and pipes to winterize and I'm always thinking I forgot something!!
We shall know in 24 hours when things finally begin to thaw!
