Torn between the 280 ai and the 7mm rem mag

yes they are nice. But at 2-3x's the price of premium cup and core bullets I'll stick with the lead jacketed. I'm one a generic beer budget lol.

I know the feeling buddy... I haven't bought a new gun in almost 3 years. I've always tried to buy at least 1 nice (high-end) gun per year (usually with my income tax refund), but the last 3 years its had to go to pay bills. With this new job, hopefully things will get back on track soon.

I have concluded that 168 grains is the most I would prefer to shoot in 7 mm and that 280AI is the highest up the ladder I personally am interested in shooting without a brake. Shooting without a brake is important to me in hunting. We all have to draw the line somewhere and that is where I drew mine.
