I would like to dip my toes into some 1k yard steel plinking and was thinking about picking up one of these. I would like to get some input from you long range guys. I picked these 2 because they are about 2k, so my funds are limited. Thanks in advance.

I have a tac -A1 in 6.5 and did a milk jug challenge in Utah hitting a milk jug at a thousand and hit it on the first round using factory eldx ammo 143 grain ( I have more of a hunting setup with a sig cross in 6.5 and it loves the factory 143 grain eldx also ) did a deer steel silouet at 1200 yards with that one but I also love my seekins and there new 2025 setups sound really cool so no problems I can see going either way

I have a 20" Tikka CTR in .260 and last time out with it I fired 7 shots total and was 7 for 7 at 875. I put it away and went home.

But ...........if I was gonna spend TAC A1 money then it would be on a Masterpiece Arms PMR. They extremely smooth and stupid accurate.

How are the factory stocks on those?
I'm certainly not an expert when it comes to comparing rifle stocks, but it appears to me that the Super Varmint Roughtech stock is more substantial than the factory CTR rifle stock. It should be, IMO, based on price difference. Keep in mind that's opinion only, based on appearance and reported dissatisfaction reported by many concerning the CTR stock. I DO know that the stock on my SV certainly seems substantial enough. Hopefully others with more experience with both can give a better response.
