Seekins Havak

Update > I have a new version Ruger mag (90560) on order...

Rifle continues to shot ~.5 with 108 Factory, 105 a-max and 95bts. Good speeds also....

I did not have time this morning but won't the Havak fit in a Rem 700 stock using 700 mag and spring ? Thinking about a more classic style stock...

I'm interested in the 28 Nosler but the Seekins website has zero interesting data on the Havak. It shows that the Havak has a Timney trigger, but Timney doesn't list Seekins as a manufacture they supply, so no part numbers are available. I'm curious what other triggers will drop in.
Also does anyone know if:
the throat is long enough for the long-for-caliber bullets
the magazine will accommodate long-for-caliber loads

I can say for a fact that mine has a standard 700 Timney trigger without the Remington bolt release lever.

Call Seekins. I hear they are pretty good about having knowledgeable folks available...

Thank you!. That's good to know. I sure hope that the long cartridges will slide in.

I have not had my hands on a LA Havak, but I know Glen put a significant amount of R&D in his action and the 28 Nosler chamber design. I'd be surprised if it doesn't come from the box ready to fire 195 Bergers into ragged hole groups.

That 6 Creed is shooting good! What powder and speeds are you getting with the 105 gr bullet?

I didn't get a chance to measure the factory 105 but the factory 108 ELD-M runs at advertised velocity 2950.
This thing is pretty fast. My 105 load clocks 3050 and the 95BT 3150

Thanks for the information. I might have to get a few. Have you noticed any feeding issues?
The Ruger mag is having an issue with the first round tilting down in the back in the mag when you load 3 and install the mag with the bolt closed. It is enough that it doesn't pick it up. If the bolt is open or if you have two inserted than no issue. I tweaked the spring and feed lips without success. Not a huge issue but an annoyance.... I will keep working on it..
