I recently acquired nearly 1000 of the 195 grain Sierra Tipped Matchkings and plan to work on some 300 PRC loads with them.

I found data for 190 grain and 200 grain loads using H1000 which is the powder I plan to use.

190gr - 76.9 to 83.1
200gr - 75.2 to 80.9

I am thinking of starting at 76 and working up from there. Thoughts?

I do not intend to work up to barrel melting speeds. I am hoping to find a node on the lower end somewhere between 2850-3000fps.

That looks safe to me; I've had to do similar things. Remember, each chamber is different and you may get pressure way before max in one and not in another, even if they are the same manufacturer. Book values are guidelines not absolutes.

Here is a 200 SMK with 81.0 grains, set to 3.450" COAL (which is from the Hodgdon web site, but you can go out farther), and with a 24" bbl.
Looks low risk with this bullet and that leaves margin for the difference in that newer TMK version.
