7mm mag or 280 AI, can't go wrong with neither! Only thing I would do is get a 1n9 twist,that will handel just about anything you want to feed it. Just my two cents.

Have you considered a 6.4x47 Lapua? Seems like it might do everything you're looking for with less recoil, less powder, large bullet choices, etc.

I have, and I owned a 260 in the past, the 6.5 is a fantastic round, but I want a 7mm bullet.... Dont get me wrong the BC's on a 140gr in 6.5 are better than 7, but thats where they stop, you cant get a 168 or 180 in 6.5, which the 7mm BC in those weights makes me happy.
