Thinking of a .277 for new build?

I love my 270 Ackley, running a 130 at 3308 with 0 pressure and only 55.5 gr powder, i have went to 3400 but saving barrel as much as possible. Friend shoots a 270 wsm and they run neck and neck the same.

I'm shooting a 26in Douglas 10 twist. I haven't loaded much for it other than the 130's yet, i have some 150's on the bench to test out. That load shot so good I stopped trying. .2in at 100yards all day long.

I too love my .270 AI with Lilja 30" SS 1:8'" 3G propelling the 175 Matrix VLD at 2993 FPS with 58 H4831SC (current accuracy load). Got close to 3100 FPS but groups opened up as well as pressure signs. Others are reporting more velocity with RL26, have a couple of 1-pounders but haven't had a chance to try them yet. The rig groups 5-7" inch at 1K if I do my part. It was primarily built for the heavies but might try the 130s and see how fast I can push it.

Thats what I'm talking about!

Why not just take a .280 Ack and neck it one pass to .270? Seems like much less work and custom dies wouldn't be needed.
I did that 30 years ago I call it the grim reaper works great 63 grs vv165 accubond 140 3265 fps with 27 inch working on a heavy bbl 30 inch 1/8 twist for the 170 Berger's
