The dumbest thing you have ever heard

Sold her on a Tikka light weight in 300 WM. I tried to discourage it but her significant other joined in with the young counter guy. I'm sure it was up for sale after about the 3rd shot.

My wife before she passed away had her grandfather's A-Bolt 7 Mag after he passed.

She wanted to shoot it and I told her I would check it out. I cleaned it, put a scope on it, zeroed it and told her let's go. Mind you, she was 5' 2" and maybe 125/130lbs, 1 shot and she looked at me and asked exactly how hard are deer to kill. She told me to pull the scope and clean it up and put something on it to preserve it for the youngest if he decides to hunt. She never wanted to shoot it again.

I built her a 6.5 Creedmoor on a Defiance Anti Action in Manner's MCS-CS2. I had to show her the 6.5 Creedmoor round up against the 7 mag before she agreed to shoot it. She handled all manner of weapons in Afghanistan when she was deployed, but she absolutely hated that 7 mag. I am sure the fullsize stock and lightweight didn't help any.

Had a "friend " several years ago……
We were discussing all the new Tv shows promoting long range hunting. He said those 1000 yard impacts on animals must be devastating……… because the bullet had plenty of time to mushroom big before it impacted the animal.

I had a 4 hour argument with someone who thought killer whales (orcas) were the exact same species as a bottlenose dolphin. pictures of the animals did not end the argument.

Also heard someone ask an astronaut if they'd ever considered a manned mission to the sun.

Training new shotgun shooters(adults). Going over gas operate and recoil operated semi auto shotguns. After training like usual I ask if there are any questions. Question was. Do we get the gas for the gas operated shotguns at any gas station? I used to say there is no such thing as a dumb question. That question changed my perspective on that theory.

As for dumbest thing a buddy when I was a kid used to have a .243 WSSM, he would shoot and swear the bullet was going so fast it would just pencil through the deer and not expand.

Once I got older I realized he was just a terrible shot.

About 30 years ago my uncle and I were sealing old mine shafts that were found by a logger on state land. The forest service sent a guy out to count them so we knew how many there would be. After working for a couple of days and just about ready to wrap up, we found another one. The lead guy from the forest service asked the man who was sent out to find them, "I thought you said you found them all?". The man responded, "I found the one's I saw". My uncle and I laughed our arses off. I still use that line at work when it's applicable. Really, you found the ones you saw?
