was out for exercise ride , in town yesterday on my bike and saw a jet black tree squirrel on someone's front lawn!
I almost ran into a parked car while looking at the prized black squirrel!
So I stopped and looked for witnesses driving by to see if they also saw it, but's no one else even cared? So pulled out my phone and took a picture and you can't even tell it's an animal !
I've only seen two in my life !
Black grey squirrel basically literally hundreds in my forest. Good eating and hunting daylight when still dark, and dusk till almost dark when most active, make a sound like a cat. They've been responsible throughout the years for warning when predators are afoot, can spot a cat, fox , coyote and will keep warning until the predators' disappear.

smell in freezer - I clean my boat chest's with ice & boat soap let it sit for a while at least overnight on the boat. It should work for you Len.
I used Clorox, shower mold & mildew, Oxy Clean, Lysol, Simple Green, and washed with pressure hose clean water.
That smell of thawed out deer, beef, pork, lobster, fish is almost like a dead body.
Even after all those cleaning products and letting the freezer air out it still has a very odd smell. I also took 50 lbs of Charcoal & boxes of Baking Soda, layered it and closed the lid. Did that for one month to see if the charcoal would adsorb the smell. Still had the smell so I threw out the charcoal and loaded it up with new charcoal. Haven't looked at the freezer in about a year. I guess I'll check it out the next week when I am moving the freezers to another part of the basement.
I hate to throw it out since it is relativity a good chest freezer. I guess that if I have vacuum packed items to freeze, what little smell won't effect it.
UPDATE: Just now out of curiosity
I just went to check on the freezer and the charcoal the I put in it had a fine layer of looked like mold on the briquets and there is NO SMELL in the freezer. Will now plug it in and start using again.

Good , I was just about to suggest throwing a dead skun in for a while , least it'll change the smell.

There are black squirrels around Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country. They look a lot like a grey or cat squirrel but all the ones I saw were living in rock fences and rock piles. Don't remember ever seeing one in a tree, saw some on the cabin roof.

Last year I saw a white goose flying with honkers twice. I don't know if it was a snow or a albino Canadian. They weren't close to me and I didn't have binos on. This year a saw a Candian hanging with some mallards ! Some them on the ice and when they took off the honker went with them following week I saw them again . Im pretty sure. Was 1 honker with mallards .
