I would take you up on that but in this particular scenario I am kind of at that point where either the rifle will shoot EXACTLY what I want it to shoot, or I am going to take a cutting torch too it! Just seems like when you buy quality components and have a top shelf smith put them together things should just work right

I will definitely keep that in mind on future projects. Actually, I have a couple of 6MM projects that I may have to try out some Hammers on. One is a 6-284 with a 1:12 Twist and the other two are both factory Remington .243s with 1:9.25" Twist. Recommendations for those? Target application is deer/antelope as far out as possible with good terminal performance.

12" twist is tough to get much bullet weight in, particularly with pure copper bullets. Your 9.25" twist will run our 80g Hammer Hunter well.

Had a rifle put together that seems pretty fussy on what it will shoot. Doesn't seem to like VLDs or heavy boattails. Seems to love the 140 Speer Hot-Cor so thought about trying these from Speer. The B.C. seems optimistic but probably better than the 140 HC.

Anybody used these on game yet? What kind of results? Intended use is deer/antelope and boiler room shots on elk.

I know this is an old thread, but I had excellent performance with this bullet in my .264 win.
I was firing at 3200 fps from a 26" barrel, and had four deer kills last week. All were one shot kills.
I recovered one bullet in the off shoulder, and it weighed 119 grains and exhibited textbook explansion to over 3/4". The closest shot was 262 yds, the longest was 450.

Man, that almost sounds like you've got some other issue going on. That's a lot of "disliked" quality bullets.

Same thought here. Either more load development and patience or something is very wrong.

I'd start with checking the twist rate. They aren't always as stamped.

I have my .264 magnum long throated, with an 8 twist Wilson Barrel. COAL is 3.460" (Rem 700 action)
