Target bullets for hunting too?

Apparently I missed the joke...

They are the new aluminum tipped bullets. They have like over .600 BC. They literally have an aluminum tip and core. Would not be good for hunting. Probably the definition of pencil through.

Not an aluminum core. Still lead. But yes, an aluminum tip. There are other hunting bullets that utilize an aluminum tip already. Badlands Bulldozers.
I am actually anxiously awaiting to hear of some "on game' Performance. The 153s might be in line for my new 6.5SS. Right now, it is the 150 SMK that has the green light. I shoot them in my current 6.5SS @ 3117, and they WHOOPED a pronghorn last year for me.

Sir the target bullets I shoot from two rifles the otm's if sub 150 I go for a rib shot from my .300 and the 77gr and 69gr match kings from my AR and .223 rem I go for rib and rear shoulder no problems but they are going around 2910 fps and not 3160 fps for the 185's

Rear shoulder? Please tell me you mean the rearward portion of the front shoulder?

But I have never condoned using .22 bullets on dear. I don't even like the use of 6mm bullets. Myself personally I think it's cruel and inhumane. But we know what opinions are like.

Ummm…..did you mean DEER? Or did you actually mean dear, like ex-wife?:D Either way, yeah, bigger is better....plus....your screen name....

Shot 178 gr amax in 300 WSM. Killed 3 mature does at 150-200 yds. Hit ribs behind shoulder, no exit wound on all 3. Gave up on them as a hunting bullet and wouldn't recommend for other than targets or varmints.

All of these examples sound like shooter error to me. Bad hits on game, hitting a twig, jerking the trigger.
Plus, Berger "Target" bullets have a THICKER jacket than their "Hunting" bullets. So that point is moot too.
Plus, your grammatical errors are killing me. "AN animal", "Through", "You", "through", "right", "AN ethical hunter".

I will take a well placed target bullet over a poorly placed hunting bullet all day, every day. Actually, I will take a well placed target bullet over a well placed hunting bullet any day too. I know how my loads work.

Ya, sorry bout the errors to the keyboard commandos , I was talk to texting and didn't proof couse I was BIZZY TESSTING BOOLETS !! There are a few camaaandoes that maybe should spend more time shooting and testing and they would realize this is not just for a argument , that there in fact can be two sides to the story . You are out of your mind if you think a stick between you and your target can't cause a shift in poi when your scope is focused on your target, you wouldn't even see It or that the animal can't take a step at shot break , and that really comes into play the longer the bullet is in flight . If less time was spent focusing on grammar and spelling and more time on the fact that my point was unintentional poi and worst case , a open minded conversation could be hadd . This is the exact reason there are videos on this site of people shooting at elk at 600 yards and shooting a 8' group at 600 yds , yes 8 FOOT ! Wounding it and having to finish off with a pistol .....I'm out

I am not saying a twig will not deflect a bullet at all. But it does not matter if it is a target or hunting bullet. And if you don't think I test lots of bullets, and shoot a lot....you are mistaken.
What I am saying is you are giving a lot of examples that have nothing to do with bullet construction and everything to do with poor shot placement.
