I recently got a 338-378 weatherby Mark v Accumark elite. Love it so far. That's my top end cartridge. That will pretty much do anything I ever have a desire to do.

I would second the 338 Ultra. 338 is where you really start to notice the "magnum" difference. You will see it immediately and wonder why you waited so long. A good brake greatly enhances the experience.

Option #1 - a 6.5 Creedmore, isn't it obvious? Guys here are taking Moon shots with them and adding more craters to the surface, and probably getting .75 miles of penetration to boot. And there's the guys that take the things hunting for T-Rex fer cry'n out loud. Amazing round no doubt. I think I'll rebrand it the 6.5 Millenneal Magnum. So - the 6.5 MinMag for the win?

And perhaps a .223 with the 77gr TMK as a backup gun? Some guys use it on Grizzly Bears - increadibly versatile round!

How about a 30-378 Weatherby Magnum - that's a hot round.

Go buy a 30–3 78 Weatherby mark five Accu mark send it to Thompson long range. They'll put the Leupold scope on it. You're good out 1000 yards game over!

Big 30 cal…just from the brass availability hard to not talk 300prc or 30 Nosler. Those would be my two picks. The 300 Norma is bigger tho.

My first custom, a 28 nosler, should be finished by the end of the week. Now I'm already wanting to start another. If so I'll part ways with current gun to fund it. But, as the title states what calibers would yall recommend. I think I'd like a 30 cal. But open to all options. I tend to lean towards the hotter rounds.

But……before we go down this rabbit hole, do you reload!!! I suspect that before this thread is done we're going to need intermission breaks to get through all the replies!!

Getting it chambered is easy, finding brass and/or ammo isn't including dies!

That's how I choose!

300nm makes a great hotrod!

338nm is another good choice over 338lm.

Buy barrels in bulk on some possible choices ad you'll go thru several when getting burned out at 800 rounds.

My next 30 cal will be a 300 wsm or 30 mega. I have a 300 RUM that I will save for my son when he gets a little older.

I have a Weatherby Mk V 30-378…it's plenty hot. I wouldn't say it is the first rifle I pull out of the cabinet, but certainly hot.

If price is no object, then you MIGHT gain a bit going to a Lazzeroni 7.82 Warbird. Nothing about this option is cheap, however. I think their rifles are well built and their ammunition is good quality…but not inexpensive.

300 NMI would be pretty sweet.
A 7-300 NMI would be pretty cool also. 190gr A-tips at 3250 FPS gonna be really hard to beat.
