I left the cock on closing on my 9.3x62 p17 scout and cock on opening in my 458 Lott. I don't mind the cock on closing, it doesn't really change the function of the rifle. 6 down in the magazine in the 9.3x62 is pretty huge too.

I'm curious as to your finish on the action & barrel. I bought one at a auction that was polished. It's a bit shiny for my liking. I was wondering if soda blasting would be the way to go ?
