StaBal 6.5 powder info

If I can ever get myself out to the range, I will see what I get with StaBall 6.5 in my 280AI shooting 150BD2's. I'm just going to find pressure and record velocity on this test. The BD2's really take up a great deal of case capacity in the 280AI case. The ball powder really cuts down on the compressed loads I am getting with RL23. Hopefully the weather will cooperate over the next few days.

I tested some 6.5 Staball in my 260 AI with 140gr ELDM's. I'm at 2864 fps out of a 25.5" barrel. Primers look fine, easy bolt lift. I think that will be my load for the rest of the summer. The Ramshot Hunter load seemed to have spike up in pressure above 85 degrees. Or maybe I have too much carbon build up.

StaBall 6.5 adds velocity in some cartridges, such as 7mm-08, 30-06, to name a couple.
What's your 06 load using STBL6.5? If I could run the same I precision and velocity as the N560 delivers launching 215s, I will switch.

Just looking for some reference, I will do some testing once the powders gets here.

I went to the range this morning and was pleasantly surprised with the StaBall 6.5 and BD2 150's. At 56 gr the velocity was 3013 fps without pressure signs. At 56.5 heavy bolt lift and ejector marks. I'll be pulling bullets loaded above this. 24" barrel running suppressed. 88 degrees and humid as hello today.

I've not yet loaded '06 with the StaBall 6.5. I have loaded it in 7mm-08 however.

Based on data I've seen that has pressure data supplied with the load data, the SB 6.5 is worth a decent increase in velocity in the 30-06. I plan to try it in my '06, just haven't yet found time to do so.

On the burn-rate chart Staball 6.5 is in-between Hybrid 100v and R19. I believe the 100V is being used in the 6.5 140 Match BTHP Match ammo. Staball match slight slower than Varget and the HD is one step slower than Retumbo.
Thanks for the info😎🥃

My 2C on STaBall6.5. Guns either love it or hate it. It seems to push out of a good accuracy node sometimes if you're trying to get all the speed you can out of it, other times it pushes into one. I'm about 80% on the rifles I've tried loading using it. I've had several people I load for buy it wanting me to use it to speed up their 7mm whizbang, or whatever they are shooting. I've told them it my not work as planned. I load for accuracy 1st, speed 2nd ! And , if I speed it up bad juju can happen. Some still want me to try. Their money to spend. I make sure they are present when I load some for testing so they can see what happens first hand.

Sounds like most are happy with staball 6.5. Tried it in my 7-08 with two different weights of bullets and my rifle does not like this powder. Velocity was good but if a powder won't shoot ballistic tips accurately it ain't worth piddling with in that rifle. This powder will spike quickly in pressure. Just my .02

I'll put your gun in the hate it list !😉. If you haven't found a load you're happy with try STaBall match. I'm getting good results with it in a 7-08!

My friend (from Colorado) is using SB 6.5 in his 6mm Creedmoor with 103 ELDX. Excellent accuracy and very impressive velocity.
The velocity in his rifle with this combo is identical in both summer and winter at his local range, and that is a big temperature swing.
I am using SB HD in my 1:8 twist 270 WSM with the 175 TGK and it's looking real good so far.
