On the burn-rate chart Staball 6.5 is in-between Hybrid 100v and R19. I believe the 100V is being used in the 6.5 140 Match BTHP Match ammo. Staball match slight slower than Varget and the HD is one step slower than Retumbo.

Close to as in what exactly! Close only in burn rate? Close to as in density? Close to as in both? If burn rate is close and density isn't, then ............or the other way around?

There's only one StaBall 6.5 powder. The others with "StaBall" in the name has different back half portions of the name. IE: "StaBall HD" & "StaBall Match", both of which are different than "StaBall 6.5."

All three of these powders have different burn rates.

StaBall 6.5 is close to H4350, and the first to appear on the market. StaBall Match is close to Varget, with StaBall HD close to Retumbo. The last two powders were recently introduced as 2023 products.

I can find StaBALL Match and 6.5 StaBALL almost every place that sells powder here, but have yet to see any StaBALL HD. I'd love to get some and use it in my WSM and new 6.8 Western.

Twist and barrel length?

I have a box of 124 HH in my 7-08 788 carbine, need to try the staball match.
24 inch CA arms Ridge line. Carbon barrel. I'm using 45 grains of STaBall match @2.780 oal. 3070 fps. 60 thousands jump. 1in9 twist, rifle on the right is a CZ 22LR it's a killer.

We (my brother & I) have tested StaBall HD in his 300 RUM.

So far, initial accuracy looks promising. Velocity is significantly lower than Retumbo.

I've used StaBall 6.5 in my 7mm-08 XP-100 with 15" barrel. Getting 2650 fps with Nosler 150 ABLR bullets. I've not yet done much for accuracy load workup yet as I simply sighted the gun in for deer hunting (but didn't kill any deer with it yet).

I don't think the staball's are going to win any speed race, but might be a savior in barrel life? At 1 time I could've bought some match and hd for $24/#, but passed as not knowing enough and there wasn't any data out yet. Still a decent price today.

The Match is closer to N540 than it is to Varget in terms of velocity and precision we obtained from recent testing.
