Show off your 277 wildcats

It would defiantly be a nice cartridge but I don't think 3200 is achievable at all with a 175gr,most the f class shooters using 284's and shehanes are getting approx 2850-2900fps with 180's and 30" tubes.

Ya, to reach 3200 fps with a 175 class 270 bullet you'll need something in the 270-300 win mag, 270 Dakota, 270-375 Ruger or 27 Nosler capacity.

27 nosler maybe with 28 inch barrel. I have been playing with a shortened ultra mag case in .277. 165 matrix 3300 fps with 27 inch barrel. 90 gr rl-33 cbto 3.010. going on its first hunt hogs and whitetail nov 15. will keep updated on how matrix bullets perform first time using them

Good , I'll be looking forward to it, I haven't tried the matrix bullets yet. But I'm going to rebarrel my wsm and try them in it.

On a side note I'm in the process of building a 6.8spc on a savage mod 11, and I just lack my stock and scope, I know it's not a wildcat, or even long range worthy, but with the low recoil I think it's going to make a great varmint and deer rifle for packing long distance. have any of you guys tried this cartrige?

I killed 2 does last year with it last year and they both dropped in there tracks with 110 gr nosler accubonds.

I had the itch trigger finger syndrome this morning and couldn't pass a small mulie that I watched for 2 hours so I sent a 165 matrix from my 270 sherman shortmag to the boiler room! It was only 394 yards but the results were very good. 277 entry....Destroyed the lungs... had golf ball size exit. As bigngreen said they sure do work even at medium distance and smaller animals.
270's have some awesome potential if the bullet manufacturers would show some love and expand their bullet lines with heavy pills.
I'll keep an eye on this thread to see what cartridge you actually go with 6mm06guy

I did similar last year with my .270 AI and 175 Matrix at 311 yards. I normally pass it up but he was the only buck (area is off limits on muley does) and my son in FL wanted some venison for Thanksgiving.
