Only hunting companions that I have are my wife, B-I-L (doesn't really hunt.. couple does a year), and hopefully my 6yo if he can be still and quiet (Lord, help my patience with him during deer season..) we have a bit over 300 acres of semi-isolated free range QDM (for the past 5 years, starting to see some realized improvements in herd standing)

Couple of my grandsons go w/ us in the stand equipped w/ I-pad and headsets. Also sit on the floor.

I'd probably shoot 'em but it could walk on certain days. I love to have the choice and it all depends on how the hunts goin down that day and year. If that makes sense.

If I question should I shoot him, I pass. Its hard tho sometimes new buck shows during the rut and you only have a few seconds to judge? Id let him grow and see what he becomes he's still relatively young.

I've passed bigger in SEGA. But for a mountain buck, he's very respectable, his genes aren't the greatest, and he's probably a 4.5 based on the size of NEGA deer. I wouldn't feel bad if a family member shot him and he would be a great reminder of a day in the woods...and that should be the ultimate goal.

If it is a trophy to you and it would make you happy to harvest this buck, then go for it. Where I hunt in OK I would be glad for a buck that size. That is what I love about hunting to me it may be a buck I would pass but to others it would be a trophy. Good luck!

The way i look at this is if you have already shot a buck that size or bigger then I'd wait. If that would be the biggest deer you have ever killed then take it.
Hard to kill a giant if you always shoot medium or large deer. Once a buck is a giant shoot it no matter what
