Sharing COVID-19 vaccination personal experience

My mother and I received Moderna vaccines about two weeks ago. She's high risk and I'm her caretaker plus I work for the school district. She experienced a headache which was probably non related. I've had severe allergic reactions to bee stings and shellfish and am prescribed anaphylactic shot kit by the VA so had a 1/2 hour wait. I had some fatigue and muscle soreness but no fever. It's possible I had covid back in early 2020 before there were tests and the protocol was to stay home if ill. I appreciate the people who want to wait in order for 1st responders and elderly get their vaccines first. I'd argue that at this point anyone who gets vaccinated and reduces the chance to spread covid is doing their part.

The wife and I received our second shot (Pfizer) almost 24 hrs ago....I had no arm soreness, nothing. But then, I also had tested positive back in November, so I probably already had some antibodies in me. Now my wife woke up this AM with nausea and generally feeling bad...been in bed all day. Like it's been said...if it keeps us from getting the COVID, or spreading ....it is worth it.

So I have deleted off-topic replies.

If you and/or your family received covid shots...tell us about it.

If anyone has OTHER questions, start a new thread of your own, please.

Now I can report on my wife's shots.

Pfizer brand - - - both shots, injection site slight soreness each time. No other side effects.
This reflects my own experience.

Pfizer brand. 1st dose on 1/2 and 2nd on 1/29. Was concerned after hearing co-workers lament that they had no side affects after the first dose and felt pretty bad after the second, but fortunately for me, nothing more than a sore left arm.

Praying that everyone can be at peace with the decisions they need to make and be resolute in finding a way through this incredibly difficult year and the months to come. We will get to the other side of this.

Moderna, both shots done. Arm really hurt for four days after first shot. I had a trainee "practicing" on me, learning to give injections (they gotta learn somehow, right?) Wife's arm only hurt a couple of days. Both of us felt sick & "blah" the day after. Both felt better by day 3. Second shot? Arm only hurt for a couple of days this time (for both of us). Woke up and felt bad all the next day. Glad we had no plans. Thankfully it was a Saturday. Felt fine on Sunday and ready to work again on Monday

Moderna. Both doses. Pretty much the same as my experience with all vaccines. Sore arm for a couple days, move on.

I have a friend who is an ICU nurse and she was ill for two weeks after receiving one of the vaccinations. She is still glad that got the shot as she has been working the covid patients since the beginning of the pandemic.

Wife and I got the Pfizer on Jan 28th, just a slight soreness at injection site. Minor muscle soreness 8 hours later in the upper left arm for both of us. Get our second shot on the 18th of February.

My wife and I had our first Pfizer shot on Friday February 5. Arrived at 4:28pm, picked up at my truck in parking lot by shuttle, inside for paperwork and shot, driving home at 5:30pm. Fastest line I have been in since enlisting. Second shot will be February 27.
No reaction to either one of us. County Police and Fire Services, Health Care providers did a great job.

Moderna - first shot on Jan 25th. 24 hours later I felt a slight soreness at the shot spot....similar to a flu shot. Disappeared by day two after the shot.
Am now scheduled for shot 2 on Feb 23. Will report.
BTW I am 81 years old and with the exception of high blood pressure (controlled by the magic of medicine LOL) am in good health (for 'someone my age', my doctor told me)
Spouse has shellfish and bee sting allergic reactions so is afraid to get the vaccination at this time.

My wife and I just received our 1st Moderna shot, on 2-11. Neither of us had any side effects which really surprised me because the yearly flu shot, usually causes me a sore shoulder and itching for a few days.
