Seating depth mystery

Looks like some corrosion/rust may have formed in the freebore. Could be carbon but that would have gradually built up over time. Something in the freebore is scaring the jacket. If you have a bore scope should be able to identify what it is

It appears, almost like something is in your chamber throat, just before the leade. Have you tried looking in the chamber? Looks like you could see something if it was in there. Do you have access to a bore scope?
That's a good place for a carbon ring to develop but I never thought it would scrape the bullet like your pic shows.

Like mentioned that is a little further forward but I am nearly positive that you have a carbon ring. They are extremely stubborn to remove and normal cleaning procedures will not take care of it. Read up on it, hit it head on and make sure its removed completely. Hopefully it wont come back! I have recently read good things on LRO about boretech products to remove it. Best of luck.

I will see if I can find a bore scope.

Unfortunately I had a 26 nosler that developed a carbon ring very quickly and did it repeatedly in very few rounds. It did this very thing to the bullet.
