Kinda what I was thinking. Thanks for the input guys! That dog will hunt. A 22-250 doesn't generate the recoil to induce scope flex. You have your front ring close to the objective too, so it ain't going anywhere.
Debbie Downer!no room for covers.......
Unfortunately trueno room for covers.......
I understand that just didn't want to buy rings if not needed. Cheekweld is not perfect but close enough for this one.Getting a scope as close as possible to the barrel is such a 1980s way of thinking. Get it to where your head is in a comfortable position with a proper cheekweld no matter where the scope is height wise. All modern software allows for scope height above the centerline of bore.
Didn't give that a thought. Gonna shoot it when the rain quits. I'll keep an eye out for that. Thanks! In some rifles, the scope (rings ) height can impact ejection. Empties were hitting the windage knob on my scope with low rings. Had to switch them out to medium height rings. Just something to think about.
I have a .22-250 whose scope clearance will only let a thin sales receipt slide through without interference. It has worked extremely well for me for 6 years now. No problems.
