I'm a diehard conservative, and there is no one running that is conservative. I think the Dem's should win, then the country will suffer. That will make the next election stronger for the Rep's. If McCain wins, the Dems will say that the conservatives and Republicans ran the country down. Time to rebuild Republican's, let Obama win and sink for a few years and then we can take the country back with a strong Republican/conservative party, house, senate and President and fix the country again! McCain is not the man, he'll give conservatism a bad name! I hate to vote for a Dem, never have, never will?????Maybe now????? Undecided

While I agree in principal, knowing Obama, I'm not sure we'll have any guns left...............................BTW, I'm also a diehard conservative that could never bring myself to vote for Obama or Hillary.

I have two big predictions for the year - the first is that Hilliary walks away with the nomination at the Democratic convention. Not sure how she's gonna do it, but she hasn't spent 11 million dollars of her and Bills' money for nothing. She's got something up her sleeve; Superdelegates, some kind of trash on Obama (pics of white women maybe?). Not sure of what it is, but I'd bet she's holding some kind of a trump card. My second part of that prediction is when she steals it from Obama, you're going to see big cities like Chicago, Atlanta,etc go up in smoke. The blacks will be up in arms and it'll be another LA riot but in every big city with a large black population.

My second prediction is going to be a LANDSLIDE victory for the Democrats. Why? Because theres A WHOLE LOT of disgruntled conservatives out there (including myself) that will refuse to vote for McCain, they'll either stay home or vote for Bob Barr (my choice so far) or Ron Paul. Too many people are like me and refuse to vote for that turncoat McCain. Let them win the election, by a HUGE LANDSLIDE, it will wake up the Republicans with a big slap and MAYBE they'll realize that the base of the Republican party won't put up with "leaning" to the left anymore. Worse case scenario is two years of leftist socialism that will be followed by the Republicans gaining back possibly both Houses come next election. I too am concerned with the Supreme Court judges that will be put in place. What makes you think that even if McCain gets in office, that he'll pick someone decent, and I guarantee you if it is someone conservative the Senate won't accept them, so he's shut down anyway even if he did choose a conservative, which is wishful thinking. Look at the man and who he's sided with in the past - he's not a conservative, he doesn't deserve to even call himself a Republican - HE'S A WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING!!!

I tend to agree with your second one, but not for the same reasons stated here. A republican administration led us to war by lying about, or at the least distorting, the facts. And the price of gas is through the roof, partially because the dollar isn't worth a dollar anymore because of deficit spending to fund an uneccessary war in Iraq, which never needed to be fought. If we had spent the money to find and dispatch of Bin Ladin instead of Bush's war in Iraq, we'd have had Bin Ladin years ago, and the country would have way more international credibility than we have occupying Iraq. So I do think Barack Obama is likely to be our next president, simply because the Iraq war has been such a blunder.

It is illegal to explore the shale oil in the West.
It is illegal to drill off of the East Coast.

With respect to the presidential candidates, Hillary is out of it. I posted earlier, that our choices were Obama or McCain. I'm for the better of those two. I won't waste my vote on a non-contender as a matter of principle or objection. We're stuck with one of these two candidates for the next for years, like it or not, unless one of them dies in office. I'm for the better of those two candidates. I'll consider their gun ownership position, their energy policy, their policy on the war against terrorism, their committment to using our financial and military power wisely rather than foolishly, and Iraq was a foolish waste of our resources. Sure and having more oil would be bad for prices? Having more refining capacity would be bad for prices. Read the financial pages and you will learn that this is a lack of capacity, fear driven price increase. You have obviously zero knowledge about the futures markets.

If you haven't read about it yet, the price of oil is determined in dollars. When the value of the dollar goes down, the price of oil goes up independent of supply and demand. The value of the dollar goes down when the US government increases its budget deficit and debt. That's what happens when the Bush administration spends vast sums of money trying to correct a foolish mistake so Bush doesn't go down in history as one of the biggest losers ever. But this was such a collosal blunder that that's a lost cause too.

If you haven't noticed, the Canadian dollar was recently worth more than the US dollar. It's convenient to disregard the facts that don't support your political views and hold dearly to the ones that make you feel good, aint' that so?

You ought to stick to posting on the topics that don't make your blood boil. You'd be better off.

All I want is for gas prices to go down...I"m really sick of paying this $4+ a gallon ********. Its ludacris. Really makes it tough for a guy to do any hunting, or trips or anything anymore. I"m not supporting it anymore...I"ve been riding my bike to work and around town. I"ll save my gas for hunting, when I can even afford to go. Haven't even went and looked for a coyote in months, and it aint gettin any better that I can see. Bush is about as worthless as tits on a boar if you ask me. As long as his pockets are getting fat with cash, he dont give a **** about anything or anyone. When you own one of the biggest oil fields in Texas, **** who cares how much Oil is right?? Its all a cryin shame if you ask me...
