RL26 and 6.5 Creedmoor

I finally had a chance to test some RL26 in my 6.5 Creedmoor. I kept it simple. PRIME once fired brass, full length sized, GM210 primers, COAL at 2.810. I used 2 guns. Savage action barreled to a 26" savage heavy barrel 1:8. Tikka T3 with 24" field barrel 1:8. 140VLD hunting bullets. I simply fired 2 rounds for each load over my Oehler chrony. 45 degrees. I'm not pulling down some of the velocities that I read about. Of course I could have fired more of each load, but I was simply trying to get a feel for velocity.
SAVAGE
46.6 grains 2757, 2747 velocity
47 grains 2797, 2785
47.5 grains 2830, 2843
48 grains 2863, 2863
TIKKA
47 grains 2746, 2732
48 grains 2856, 2845
Those velocities seem low. With 48 grains I was running 2945 with the 140 eld in my 26in criterion. 48.5 ran at 2900 in a 22in barrel creed my dad has.

I just acquired a christensen mesa long range in 6.5 cm. Can someone run the numbers for me? 26" 8 twist, hornady brass, 143 eld-x cci br primers and rl26.

I can tell you in my 26in at 49 grains in hornady brass i reached 3014 fps using the 140 eld-m and a Winchester wlr primer. My accuracy node however was 48 grains at 2945. Work up though. I started at 45 grains I believe.

Hi here is a QL using the specs listed with default values on COAL and RL26 powder.
Use a means of measuring velocity comparing it to the chart, find velocity in chart and the pressure will be according to velocity. Higher velocity higher pressure, lower velocity lower pressure. If you load longer or shorter COAL we will need to factor that in as well. Let me know what your results are and we can adjust the figures so predictions are more accurate.

Thank you very much, my plan B was start at 42 grains, work up too 2850fps or primer signs what ever came first! I really need too get quick loads!lol

I shoot the 143 ELD-X out of my 6.5 CM 26" @ 2998 to 3000 fps measured with Magneto Speed, it is the best accuracy node for my rifle at that load. Mine are loaded long 2.890", I use HBN coating and my powder lot runs a bit hotter than the default. I was able to hit the same speed and accuracy without HBN coating but with HBN it is less pressure to do it, I have to run 1/2 gr more powder with HBN. I have over 1000 rounds of loads down the tube using loads all at the upper end, my barrel shows no sign of throat erosion using a bore scope or by measuring to the lands.

I run 48.5-49 grains out of my 6.5 Creedmoor 26" amd 24" and am pushing the 2950-3000 fps area. No signs of pressure. I do run CCI small rifle magnum primers out of the Peterson SRP Brass.

Can you run this stuff through a 308 win? I'd love too bump my 2825fps up too 3000fps!lol
