Rifle Help, Please

This is frustrating and have had a similar situation happen to me. I purchased a "custom" .264 Win Mag off of Gunbroker and the seller had good feedback (Zero issues reported). Rifle arrived and I put a round in the mag to check it out, cycled the round out of the mag and the bolt would not close. Tried another round, same thing. I noticed a slight movement with the barrel and it was loose. The goober had just screwed the barrel into the action all the way and hand tightened the barrel nut. Needless to say that I was very upset as his description said it was custom made by his gunsmith. I was able to borrow some GO/NO-GO Gauges to install the barrel correctly and it shoots very well.

I hope you get the issues resolved and it is good to know the identity of the seller as these are not just simple mistakes or oversights that were missed with the sale ad.

You're asking for help on this. We are asking for help too, so we/anyone else doesn't get scammed, but you seem reluctant to readily identify the bogus seller for others sake. Weird.
Dude, it's super easy to search and locate the seller as mentioned above. I'm not sure of the rules on this forum about calling out bad/dishonest sellers.

Dood, Its SUPER EASY to provide a name too. You have been provided the appropriate forum by which to identify the seller, you haven't done that either. So stay cryptic. Good luck with your problem. Edited to add: You want people to address your situation, analyze your problem, and then offer suggestions which takes more effort than you to provide a name that would help said helpers to your situation. The only thing anybody wanted from you for this is a name. I must not be accustomed to millennial thinking yet.

The seller, in this case, had a zero transaction history. Hint: Click on the poster's icon and the trader history will pop up.
Yes, a seller has to start sometime but a buyer should be concerned/suspicious.

Hey Brother...may be a dumb question from an old Guy...I don't get many opportunities to ask dumb questions...so heres the first Ina long while.....Long action build for a short action cartridge? Does that make sense?

Update.....

Still haven't heard from the seller. I have reached out to Mesa and they are being very helpful. It's a shame that this great forum has people that will take advantage of others, knowingly. Thanks for all the helpful info.....it's greatly appreciated!

What you are experiencing is nothing new when one makes a purchase online for any product,; it's not just this forum. I am sorry to read what you are experiencing, especially due to making the purchase on this forum. I would suggest reaching out to Len on this sight and let him know what has transpired and who made the sale to you. As one reply asked, please let us know who sold the rifle to you so no one else gets burned by this person. One thing that does seem to be in your favor is that the rifle was put together by a reputable company that is helping you out of this situation. It really sucks to get burned on something that one is looking forward to getting and then it's messed up. Good luck with getting your gun back up and running where you would like it to be.

I recently purchased a custom 270 WSM here on this forum and shocked at how misrepresented it was once I received it. First of all…I was so hyped when my FFL called and said it had arrived! While inspecting the rifle for the first time, it discharged several times while going from 'safe' to 'fire'. Obviously, the trigger had been messed with and set to a very unsafe tension. Next, after adjusting the trigger to a safe level, I figured out the rifle will not chamber factory ammunition (I did try several types). I'm not a gunsmith by any means and have reached out to the seller, with no response. Shouldn't all this info have been disclosed by seller? Geeze! What are my options for this rifle at this point? Thanks in advance. Here is the rifle info from seller's original post:

270 WSM built by Mesa Precision Arms with the following components:

- Bighorn Origin long action, nitrided, bedded, pinned 20 MOA rail
- Mesa Precision Arms Carbon Altitude stock with Alpine color
- BSF Carbon barrel, 26", 1:8.75 twist, 5/8x24 thread, .930" muzzle diameter, 40 rounds down the barrel
- Tuned Remington 700 trigger breaking at about 2.5 lbs
- Wyatts DBM
I'd put the guy on "BLAST" and tell everyone what a turd he is.
Sounds harsh, but it might save others from doing any business with him.
