Rem 700 bolt problems

Yep. It sounds like your front base screws are too long. The rear one is just forward of the upper locking lug and might not be easily visible from the rear or ejection port. You might be able to reach a fingertip there. Look closer at the left/upper log on the bolt. You will probably see a scratch there.
Loosen the screw about half of a turn and recheck the bolt movement. Do that until the screw doesn't hit the bolt. While you are checking screw length, check the front screw. Loosen the rear screw and tighten the front screw. The base should not move or wiggle. Trimming the screws by 1 or two threads is another story.
 
Loosen the second scope base screw back from the barrel and it'll probably close fine. That screw is directly above the bolt locking lug. You'll have to trim that screw down so it doesn't extend down into the action. It's most likely on a 1/2 thread or maybe one full thread too long. Probably have a rub mark on the left locking lug on your bolt.

may be Remington problem my son gave me new Alpha 700 for Christmas, bolt was very hard to close & open, long story is I have returned it twice for 7 months it's still hard bolt their warranty sucks, will not be purchasing any new Rem[ngton same rem problems diff owner, alpha $1700+
