Nice collection but it's an acquired taste I think.

Sorry to hijack the thread I'm hoping the rifle works, a scope might be a quick fix solution if that is the issue.

Otherwise we will have a Christensen bashing thread, I don't believe they are all bad but the scope may not be either.

I had a Bergara 300wm that I sold a few months ago because I couldn't find ammo and it cost too much when I did. So I bought a Christensen arms mesa 308win because the rifle was available and I could find ammo everywhere and it didn't break the bank to shoot. My dilemma now is that the Christensen won't group under 4+ inches with any factory ammo I put through it. I have been a dedicated Bergara owner and was hesitant going with a Christensen and now I am debating on if I should sell the rifle and be done with it and go back to a Bergara or get the Christensen rebarreled. Any thoughts?
Please check your firing pin spring, these are often overlooked culprits and easy fixes. Inconsistent primer strikes cause ignition issues. Good luck.

Sadly, that's the nature of factory ammo dependency, you will have to find the right factory ammo combination that your rifle shoots well enough for your intended purpose. Different lot numbers can also make a difference in factory ammo accuracy. Below is an example, 6.5 CM at 200Y ...

**update**

Borrowed a scope and took some rounds to the range today with fingers crossed. Shot 5 rounds of Hornady 178gr eldx and 5 rounds of Federal gold 175 SMK.

Besides 1 flyer with the eldx, it shot sub moa with the rest of the ammo, like it should. In the mean time, the Vortex Venom is on its way back to Vortex praying it makes it back before the hunts start.

I appreciate everyone's help and insight with it all. Ya'll are great Americans!🇺🇸

Man, that's great. Glad the gun worked out.

So now we can convert this into a Vortex bashing thread? ;)
Haha, I still like Vortex but sure, why not. I do dream of a nice Leupold or Nightforce one day soon though. I'm looking to buy a 27 or 28 Nosler in the next year and my 2 oldest girls are gonna be moved out by then, so I may be able to afford one!

I am looking at buying a lightweight, short-barrelled .308 Winchester for a suppressed hunting rifle. Christensen is at the top of my list. This thread has been very helpful to me in that consideration. Thanks for sharing your experience, and I am very happy the rifle came around.

Now about that hunt... how long can you borrow the scope? Lol.

Warning! This thread is more than 4 years ago old.
It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
