Prayers for My Hunting and Fishing Mentor and Friend

Guys I know many of you on here believe in the power of prayer as do I. At the end of last duck season my hunting and fishing partner, Russell, was diagnosed with throat cancer.. He also has rheumatoid arthritis. He's a good bit older than me but I've known him all my life. We certainly have had some times together. He and my uncle Bill taught me pretty much everything I know about duck hunting, setting decoys, calling, etc. He's done the same with catching rockfish (stripers). I owe him a lot. Hunting and fishing just won't be the same without him and I've told him that. He can barely talk now due to radiation and chemotherapy. He has lost all sense of taste as well. The Dr. told him his speech or taste will not come back.

He's been in the hospital again this week. He needs oxygen at home. He has smoked all of his life. Then, he just up and left the hospital.. I have a feeling he's not giving us everything he knows and is preparing for his last days. He's tough, tight lipped, stubborn as H$// and to be honest if he wants to keep that to himself that's his right. He had us take his boat out of the river yesterday. With still over a month of duck season left I have to wonder if that's a sign that things have taken a turn for the worse. Please keep him and his family in your prayers. It means a lot!
Turpentine21... I am most definitely a believer in the Power of Prayer. As a Stage 3 Colon Cancer survivor (11 years ago), I know it works, so I'm sending up all I got for Russell. During my battle, my Mother (RIP) always used to tell me "no matter what the doctors say... God has the last word". And I say... "It ain't over til the Fat Lady sings"... 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Note: I usually avoid discussing religion and politics on forums but I do sometimes make exceptions... this is one. If he's a Bible reader he may get an uplift from Psalm 27... 'nough said!
