Local Cabelas has IMR4350 8lbers stacked out on the shelf 3 deep the other day. $315
How long can powder last for if it's kept in container at room temperature and dry. I have some really old MRP still in a tin can I'm thinking about trying cause I just paid 95 dollars for IMR4350. That's crazy" IF" you need it, buy it because it will not last long. The norm is ~$40-$50 and up or what you are willing and able to pay.
I was shopping for a new BowTech bow when I ran across Green Top, never heard of them. Suddenly, I see they are selling the very model I am looking for at $300 off! I hit the buy now and got it in 5 days brand new in the box. The very next day they went up $200! I think someone screwed up big time!Just picked up 2# H1000 at "Green Top" north of Richmond VA last week for $50 each (limit 2). Have been watching most suppliers hovering around 45-55 per pound for awhile now. limited selection of desired powders continues to be a challenge! Off to Dulles gun show to see what is available this weekend...
I've got powders that are a dozen or so years old that show no signs of deterioration and still produce the same velocity they did when new. I have friends with powders in tin cans that show no signs of deterioration. Stored tightly sealed in a cool, dry space out of the sun light without major swings in temperature or humidity powders can remain stable for decades. How long can powder last for if it's kept in container at room temperature and dry. Don't you know it all goes bad in 5 years? . Everybody with powder more than 5 years old, public service announcement: for no disposal fee I will take all of your old, gross, expired, rotten powder off your hands and take care of it myself! Totally free of charge! How long can powder last for if it's kept in container at room temperature and dry. Been using powder that came in the small square cans Blue with the Red or is it white dot still good to this day and the green ones also.
At this point any price that is being asked is good. The problem is, if you don't pay it somebody else will.So what is a good price? What is the "new norm"? The other day I stopped at a local gun store and couldn't believe my eyes! They had Varget, something I have been looking for for a year or more, at $46.95/lb. Does anyone think this is to high? or the new norm? One pound limit, but that's all I really needed.
