Powder issues

I tried to keep the CBTO about the same but not exactly. The hammer loads were 2.850 CBTO and my Accubond loads are 2.820 CBTO as you said due to length but I do have an extremely long throat.Never could come close to touching the lands. That may be enough for high pressure?
I could load a couple to the exact length of the old IMR4350 loads and just see if anything changes.
As PrecisionRx said I need to check my velocities. My Chronograph is not reliable but had it apart and may have found the reason so I need another range trip. The temps were not above 72 degrees that day.I weighed each load 2 times to make sure as I only loaded a few to check.
Barrel is clean and ready to go.

As I recall, IMR 4350 is not temp stable. IMR came out with the Enduron IMR 4451 which is supposed to be the temp stable version to replace IMR 4350. However, with Hodgdon doing away with the IMR Enduron powders, it may make more senseto score some H1000 and re-work your load.

I'm a fan of H1000 with my 300 WM but I run Berger 215s. When I used to run 190 gr bullets with it, I had good success with RL23. If you can find it, RL23 is also temperature stable. If you live near Condon/Seeley Lake I would give you a lb to try.
Thanks Okanogan but I have 2 lbs of Re 23 on hand.Kind offer indeed.
I live in Helena so if you ever get down here and need anything just let me know.
I have 1 pound of H1000 and have 3 more on the way so I should be ok powder wise.
I just need to stay in the 2960 fps range for a 180 gr bullet to stay with my custom turret I got a few years back.

Have you tried RL 25, 26, or 33? Ik someone mentioned RL 16 but I'm shooting 15 out of my way smaller, faster 22-250. I wanna try the RL 26 in my 7mm stw but can't find it where I live. Also I think IMR7828 or H4831 may be options too.

I used to push 190s right at 3000 fps out of a 25 inch barrel so RL23 might get what you need depending on your setup. I think trying to match the velocity may prove easier than finding the powder combination that gives good ES/SD right at that speed.
Appreciate the offer to try and help out a fellow Montana resident.

If you can find Reloader 23, it has proved a little faster that H1000 and seems to be a little less case fill. I have fought crunching powder with H1000 and a factory length mag on a Ruger. RL 23 helped with that. especially if loading monos that are longer for same weight.

Just loaded some to test.79.0 gr H1000 should put me pretty close to my old load.
Nosler manual put it at 2980 fps so I may have to come down a couple of grs since the air is a tad thinner up here.
Thanks to all!
I loaded up some 300 WM few days ago with 78.0 thru 80.0 grs. H1000 . Up to 80 grs. no pressure signs at all. It was about 75 degrees. Used ADG brass, Fed 215M , 180 Hammers. Nosler Book if I recall showed 81.0 grs. Max. I know that's not with Hammer's. I didn't Chronograph. I will next time with 80.0 to 81.0 grs.. Maybe load some up to 82.0 grs. It's a Weatherby Vanguard/Howa. I'm trying to replaced my RL26 load. Same everything else.

This all helps guys.
I just got back from the rang about 30 min ago.I feel I had loaded the Hammers a bit too far out as Muddyboots said and others confirmed.
I shot some old loads and no problems then shot 2 with H1000,79.0 grs(same CBTO as old loads) and got 1shot 3056 2 shot 3065 a bit over my old loads but they hit center of the target!Old loads were average 2960 fps.I need to shoot out to 200 and 400 yards and maybe farther to see what the long distance drop will be but I expect it won't be the same as with IMR4350.I may need to adjust loads a bit to match my turret.
I was surprised with H4831sc the low charge of 69.0 gr gave 2715 shot 1 and 2719 shot 2 and again went into the exact hole!
I have another 300 win mag that don't like my old load so it may like H4831sc or H1000.
Temps were in the low 70's when I left and mid 70's right now but getting warmer.Mornings or evenings are my time to shoot.

Thanks Mike I cannot find 25,26 or 33 at the moment but do have some IMR7828 but it too is temp sensitive however H4831sc is something I am very interested in.I shot a few this morning and was very impressed.I'll be working up a load for another rifle with that powder very soon.

I SHOOT 73GRAINS OF H4831SC WITH A 210 G BERGER 2900 FPS AND SUB 1INCH GROUPS AT 400 YDS
When you posted I was looking up loads for 30 cal 180 gr so I am very interested in H4831sc.
I need to load a few at higher charge weights and shoot them as it is available almost everywhere up here.
Thanks terry 338rum
