Your point is valid but I believe we already have enough data to set the bar accurately, based on murders from domestic violence and the historical data from those that have been deemed as mentally unstable, like the theater shooter Holmes, the retarded school shooters Lonza, et al.

And these idiots were all also heavily on strong psychotropic meds prescribed by...Guess who...Psychiatrists. You don't think there could be a correlation there?

Instead, let's just take their guns away without due-process, which is illegal according to the US Justice System and the US Constitution.

We as gun owners can not give an inch! So many of us , the majority of us are responsible people ! We are law abiding and good Americans, we are not selfish and callous to the fact that there are shootings. The truth is none of us can stop these deranged people from committing these heinous acts of violence , just like we can't stop drug overdoses and drug related crime! We don't need more gun laws ... don't we have enough? Isn't it against the law to murder already ? In a free society we have perils that we face, bad people do bad things! The 2nd amendment is there for a reason, it was well thought out by our forefathers and discussed at great length . Citizens protect the freedom of their families and neighbors against tyranny both foreign and domestic ! The hi capacity clips and black guns are what the founding fathers were talking about when they put the 2nd amendment in place! It was the 2nd thing on the agenda to protect the first amendment and the subsequent other amendments. Don't give an inch !

Mental health and background checks are a canard. How many of the last 10 mass shooters would've been identified with background checks or had documented mental health issues? Something should be done, but none of what has been proposed will do any good.

You're right. Holmes was deemed mentally ill enough for a hold. They didn't do that because they were afraid to step on his rights. Instead, he squashed the right of hundreds. Nobody stood up and said to Adam Lonza's idiot parents that a retarded boy should not have easy access to guns, and then many innocent kids and teachers died. The reason why the Douglas Cty sheriff supports red flag laws is that the shooter was also deemed mentally ill, before he shot Zak Parrish. Everyone talks about teeth in our laws but then they have no sack to stand up to the penalties. It is clear now that the majority of Americans will not allow individual rights to trump those of the many. Instead of something should be done, something will be done.

When in fact in almost every case there were multiple laws broken prior to any
mass shooting! In each case they were ignored or not passed to the proper
authorities for a multitude of lame reasons or incompetence!

Actually I don't watch ANY msm news (right, left, center...NONE), not even FOX news, so your argument and points are completely nullified on that one. But nice job on the blind parroted talking points. I also don't follow what any person says blindly. There are some folks I trust more than others because they have been honest and accurate in the past, but for 99.9% of people, I scrutinize.

The fact you have yet to refute any of my other points with alternative facts, and actually believe Trump cares about the 2A, shows how blindly YOU follow him. He's more worried about the wall and infrastructure that he can leave his name on, than our 2A rights, because that's too controversial of a hill for him to want to leave a legacy on. What he doesn't realize is that over time, it's not going to stop, or get any better. He needs to take a stance now, if he's going to.

I know about all the judges he's appointed, and it's a step in the right direction IF (and only if) they don't cave like Kavanaugh did right after being elected. One of the few people I do respect a lot is a multi-tour decorated Marine, former LEO, and business owner, that owns a gun range. He respects the Founding Fathers, the rule of law, and our Constitution. He also tells it like it is.
