Picked .308 Over 2800fps. One gun does 2850 with 215 berger and another does 3340 (3360 with 230SMK) with a 230 berger. with currant powder.

So I think that falls in the specs of .308 over 2800FPS.....

Similar to the elk cartridge thread except this one doesn't limit you to a particular cartridge.

Why no selection for .30 cal over 200gr? Something over 200 gr is the most popular for long range hunters I would think based on what I see on this site and others.

Uh...there are 2 .308 options that offer the 200+ gr. bullet in the list. .308 = 30 caliber

Yea I hear you. Its built for the "Big Sky Country" But still have not come up with a name for the rifle...

300 saum, 175 LRX @ 3030 fps. Last 6 years has taken 8 elk.

The Regular .270 Win. pushes, a 140 grain Bullet,.. OVER,.. 2,800FPS !
The .270 Wby and .270 WSM's, OVER,.. 3,100 FPS easily ( Power equal, to some, 7mm Magnum, loads ) Get a Ballistic's Guy or, Reloading EXPERT with, a LOADING Book,.. to do your, Chart's !

It's not out there period! The closest thing would be a 300 Norma mag.

Not true..... I have pushed the 230 to 3300 fps but settled on accuracy at 3100 FPS of course it is out of a slightly modified case but it is there none the less.
