Pick a Powder

H4350 or XMR4350 - nice case fill, temp. change stable & accurate. I shoot rodents with a .243W using H4350 & 87 VMax bullets & sometimes temps are over 90 deg. F. Nice 400 yard performance with velocities at about 3200 fps.
44gr RL-17 doesn't fill the case to the base. Oh well, its a start load. Blow the case to AI anyway.

Heads up…they've discontinued the IMR enduron line. I'd be nervous to try the 4166 just because what if it's the one!!!! ????🤣

I'd rather not know.

Rl17 will be the fastest I beleive. But not necessarily the best. Two different things sometimes
If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't any luck at all. 🤪 It's good enough to blow the shoulders to AI.

.243 AI
26" 1/7.5" Twist Criterion Heavy Sporter
88gr Hammer Hunter
COL: 2.800
New Lapua brass
WLR
Jump: .055"
Crimp: Taper 1/2 turn

3rnds each of:

RL-17 - 44gr (space to go)
RL-23 - 47gr (Very Compressed)
XMR4350 - 45gr (Nice fill to bullet base)
VVN140 - 44gr (Space to go)
H100V - 46gr (Space to go)
StaBall - 44gr (Space to go)
IMR7977 - 50gr (Very Compressed)
VVN165 - 49gr (Compresed)

Find pressure, then find tuning round 1.

Indeed two different things but I've found hammers shoot best at or near top end velocity.

All the Enduron line?

I've been wanting to try some 8133 if I found it

Yeah. I emailed hodgdon about it for confirmation and they said yes it's all discontinued. sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I was a fan of 8133 as well
I've seen pictures of some Enduron containers where the lits coroded away. I suspect that had something to do with it.

I'd go Staball 6.5 if you can get a good load out of it because of availability. It's the only one of those that I see consistently in stock.
